Our lovely Mums have helped us to compile this list of essential dressing for breastfeeding tips for new Mums.

'Wrap dresses, cardigans or zippers to help provide a bit more privacy. A nice scarf can help if u need to pull top down so ur whole chest isn’t bare'

'If you've found yourself a bit exposed a muslin or similar tucked under a bra strap works. Crop tops for under dungarees. High waisted jeans/ trousers / shorts to keep covered if lifting up and its too hot for a vest.'

'For anything with clips or flaps, practice undoing them before baby is desperate for a feed or you have an audience.'

'A scarf/pashmina is an easy cover up that looks good even when baby is not stuck to your boobs. I always struggled with getting my bras to clip back up after a feed so the scarf helped with the panic if I had trouble and an audience. They became such a part of my outfits that I'm still wearing them years after babies stopped breastfeeding.'

'Those vests with the huge arm holes 🙂'

'Breast pads is an important one...getting high quality reusable ones can make a massive difference to comfort levels. Something people think of less is fabric...I.e. up/down doesn't work with material that creases, satin/silk stains with milk, etc. '

'As someone who just felt/feels so anxious and uncomfortable breastfeeding in public, buy the specially designed breastfeeding tops. It felt so much more manageable for me than pulling a top up or down, or unbuttoning/unzipping my clothes. It's a huge part of why I'm so grateful that Holleo exists because otherwise I couldn't afford a whole new wardrobe of BF-friendly clothing!'

'I have a smaller bust and live in the lounge style / sleep nursing bra where you can just pull it across to feed rather than fiddle with clips. If you can get away with it, it’s so much easier!'

'Wearing a nursing vest (white works great!) under wrap tops if you prefer a little more coverage.'

'Button fronts - just open the buttons you need for access, often the top button can stay secured for extra coverage.'
